WHAT’S THE EVENT?
On March 13 we will be running 1.1 miles every hour on the hour at Prado over a 24 hour period to cover a full marathon distance of 26.2 miles. We’re doing this to raise money for the daughter of one of our instructors, Jeremy. Hutton aged 10, has cancer and she has proved to be just the most resilient, brave and big little girl. She has a relentless schedule of chemo, bloodwork, hospital stays and time away from home and to describe her fight as a rollercoaster of emotions and physical hardship would be to woefully trivialize it.
February 13 marked one year since her ordeal truly began following hemipelvectomy surgery.
PLEASE, donate what you can by clicking the button below, and come out to join us on the day (and night) even if it’s just to run/walk a mile and do a little shooting with us, or just to hang out.
COME AND TAKE PART!
If you want to run with us, just turn up at Prado, whether it’s for 1 mile or 10, and enjoy a little shooting practice between miles, on the house.
Yes we will be going through the night (no shooting after 8pm), and that’s when we’ll need some company the most! Whatever pain we’re in will be nothing compared to what Hutton has endured, so crawl, walk or run we’ll get it done.
DONATIONS
Donations can be made either through the family’s official GoFundMe page, or via Venmo. GoFundMe charges a small percentage on donations and is part of the official campaign to raise funds. The Venmo option is offered as an alternative so that 100% of your donation goes to Hutton. We will provide an anonymized spreadsheet on request accounting for every single Venmo donation, for complete transparency.
WHAT TO EXPECT
We will be based out of Condor 3 shooting bay, and we have a 1 mile route marked out that takes us out of the main gates, up the road to the 1/2 mile turn around point, and back to the bay. Once we’re back we will stretch off and shoot, chat, cook, sit or sleep depending on how we’re feeling!
This is a community event, and the Artifex Nation community is a strong and close one. We hope to see regulars, old friends and new faces and maybe we could persuade Hutton to jump on FaceTime to give us a few words of encouragement.
If you can’t make it out, you can still leave your mark by donating. We don’t need to tell you the cost of care for what Hutton has gone through and continues to endure.
